The story about Playtika’s social casino
According to a statement from CEO Robert Antokol, Playtika has completed its transition to a mobile-first game publisher, reducing its focus on the social casino scene. He mentioned that casual games now account for 76% of the company’s business, which prompted this strategic shift. This came as a surprise to many, given that the operator has been a major name in the social casino scene. Its portfolio includes slots, bingo, poker, and other casino-style titles.
In fact, the operator remains one of the leaders, competing with names like Light & Wonder, and is among the top in market share and player loyalty.
Is it plausible for a sweepstakes operator to be interested?
Absolutely! As we already mentioned, Playtika already has a solid market share and even boasted $678.9 million in revenue in its Q4 financial report. It also has a decent portfolio, meaning any operator that purchases its social casino will benefit from the following:
A massive library of casino-style games
Solid player retention and acquisition tools
Refined platform infrastructure and technology
A stronger competitive edge to compete in the US online gaming scene
With these benefits in mind, it’s likely that a leading sweepstakes operator would view purchasing Playtika’s assets as a great move.
Who are the likely prospective buyers?
There is a broad selection of sweepstakes operators that could complete this acquisition. Here are some of the names that come to mind.
VGW
This is one of the first names that comes to mind when considering operators in the industry who can serve this purpose. VGW is behind social casinos that you may have come across, including Global Poker and LuckyLand Slots, among others.
If VGW considers the strategic priorities of this acquisition and everything seems to fall into place, there’s a high chance that it will go ahead with it. Adding Playtika’s assets to its portfolio can help VGW expand its market presence.
Stake
This operates Stake.us and is already one of the most formidable names in the sweepstakes industry. The operator also seems capable of achieving this feat, and adding Playtika’s games to its list of exclusives or originals can make a huge difference.
B-Two Operations
The next likely candidate is B-Two operations. It is the company behind top sweepstakes platforms like McLuck, Hello Millions, and SpinBlitz Casino. Getting into business with Playtika could help it expand its already large player base.

What factors can influence a deal from prospective buyers?
There are numerous factors that could trigger any of these sweepstakes operators to complete the acquisition, including:
Final valuation: If prospective buyers value the Playtika social casino and deem it profitable, an operator might be able to finalize a deal.
Alignment with the goals: If a buyer evaluates all of Playtika’s offerings and finds they align with their objectives, it could be a trigger for purchase.
Player database: Playtika has a massive player base, as we already discussed. This might spark operators’ interest and lead to a purchase.
We suggest visiting our industry business news page for a more extensive analysis of these factors and potential risks of this acquisition.
Conclusion: Could this be the biggest sweepstakes casino deal to date?
Absolutely! A purchase like this will greatly boost any operator’s portfolio. This is thanks to access to Playtika’s game content, market scale, and technology. Still, there are a few risks that can prevent an acquisition from going through, including valuation, financing, and regulation.
While no interested buyer has publicly shown interest, there is a high chance that a major sweepstakes operator might find this deal attractive. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on this page if anything changes.
